What makes for a strong photo? Is it the image, the composition, the color or lack of? Is it the contrast or does determining what is good lay in the mind of the viewer?
When viewing photographs consider the following:
- Does the image have a “wow” factor? Does the image tell you a story and engage you?
- Is the image clear?
- Does color or lack of color add to the composition?
- How does your eye read the information in the composition?
- Is it a good composition? Consider the rule of thirds. Vertical and Horizontal Balance. Assymetry versus Symmetry.
More on the Rule of Thirds…
Imagine taking your image and breaking it down into thirds, so you end up with 9 squares over the image.
